He will show how IMMERSING yourself in the real work is the only way to truly make a difference and why RAPPORT is one of the key ingredients in building your culture. Jay talks about ASKING those key questions and ANALYZING your practices in order to TRANSFORM your leadership and finally... how your ENTHUSIASM will set the staff for these changes to occur.

Using Social Media to Engage your Parents, Your Students, and the Community

In this hands on workshop, Jay will share strategies and tools used to build positive social media presence in your school and to engage the community. He will share practical and simple strategies and the “WHY” behind them in order to effectively use the technological tools we have available to us to promote a positive culture about the places we hold special, our schools. Come with your device and be ready to try some new tools and idea to change your perspective on the use of social media in our schools.

Make Learning Personal! How Developing a PLN Can Change The Way You Think!

Leadership and teaching can be a lonely profession.  Don’t isolate yourself. Take a journey with Jay as he explains the importance of growing your PLN (Professional and Personal Learning Network) and shares the important “Whys” around developing your own PLN. In this workshop we will not only learn the why but work on the who and the what. Bring your devices and grow your PLN right there on the spot and learn how to tap into the power that having thousands of brilliant minds at your fingertips.

Who's Doing All The Work: Empower Students of All Ages to Own Their Learning

Far too often, teachers are doing all of the talking and most of the work in their classrooms.  In this presentation I will share the strategies, ideas, and technology used by teachers in our schools that turn the learning over to the students. We will discuss ways to get students to own their learning in all subject areas including literacy, and STEM.  You will leave with ideas that you can use tomorrow in your classroom that empower student ownership.
